Hello Ladies, I am excited about this next MNO! Just in time for the canning season! We will be having Wendy from the Extension Office coming to speak to us about Canning and Home Preservation. She will be answering all of our questions and will definitely cover canning safety. We will be meeting in Bayfield, location to be determined. I will send out an email again when the location is known and as a reminder.
Please come join us and invite friends, and if you have any questions, call: Stephanie Dolence - 970-247-9033
Fall Coop!
9/17 - 11/12
Summer is winding down which means school is gearing up for new adventure and challenges. Our Fall Coop will also be starting soon. We would like to invite you to join us for this fun event. Our children look forward to Coop starting each fall. It offers opportunities for them to learn new skills, meet new friends and participate in group learning activities. Parents share their talents with other families, receive encouragement from other homeschool moms and learn new skills! There are 3 one-hour long class periods for K – high school students. Preschool and nursery are available for families with older children participating in the program. Each class will have a parent helper and be limited in size. This is a parent led program which loosely translated means that you need to teach a class to participate. Don’t panic however, if you simply can’t teach because we have several service jobs that will count as a teaching assignment. We want you to join us and will work with you in anyway we can!
We have had lots of fun classes in the past such as high school dissection, Backyard science, Drama, Foreign languages, geography, PE, home economics, art (history and instruction) and history segments. You can reuse curriculum from your school, create a unit study on a topic that you wanted to cover but lacked time or perhaps a class that requires multiple students to really work! The possibilities are wide open.
We will meet at First Baptist Church Durango (corner of 11th and 3rd) from 8:45 – noon on Fridays for 8 weeks. This term runs from 9/17 – 11/12 with 10/15 off as a day to catch our breath! Fall Coop is open to H.E.L.P. subscriber families. Subscribe today so you can join in our fun.
